This 234 mile trip will leave the dealership at 8:30 with Casey and Rich, headed to Waco's Cafe Homestead. We will head up the east side of 35 to Belton, then move to the West side to get to North Waco, with gas stops there and back. Plan for a long day of riding and checking out the Homestead Heritage community.
Homestead Heritage is an agrarian and craft-based intentional Christian community dedicated to strong family values and simple living. They describe themselves as non denominational, with roots going back to Anabaptist traditions — the same broader movement that produced the Amish and Mennonites.
The cafe is part of Homestead Heritage and sits in a scenic, handcrafted setting. While you're there, you can visit working craft shops, tour the farm and gardens, and enjoy natural ice creams and desserts. The menu emphasizes locally sourced ingredients — breads and rolls are made from flour ground at the Homestead GristMill and baked at the Homestead Market, alongside grass-fed beef, fresh produce, and handcrafted organic teas. They're known for pasture-raised beef, award-winning local cheese, and house-made sauces.
