Solar Eclipse Ride 2024 - Ride with us to see the total solar eclipse over Texas on April 8, 2024. THIS IS A NO MEAL RIDE! Total Eclipse begins at 1:36pm so we will KSU at 10:00AM and head to Kempner Valero for a bio/snack break. Then onward arriving at our Solar Lookout location about 1:00pm. Bring extra hydration/snacks as we wait for the total eclipse, the partial starts about 12:30ish with the total eclipse at 1:36pm. The duration of totality will be up to 4 minutes and 27 seconds. DON'T FORGET YOUR SOLAR GLASSES. I HAVE 15 EXTRA PAIRS BUT DEPENDING ON NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS I MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH! After the eclipse we will head southwest to Lampasas then into Bertram/Oatmeal and wind our way back to HEB from Nameless Rd. This will be a long ride on lots of small backroads to avoid major roads and traffic. Depending on traffic we will ride about 150 miles with an estimated seat time of about 4 1/2 hours traffic depending.
