Time to make a run back out to Blanco, a great little town to visit this time of year.
Please note - this is a Level 4 ride. We will be taking some back country roads that are narrow, bumpy, cattle guards, loose livestock, and several low water crossings (dry at the time of the pre-ride). If we have significant rain prior to the ride I will either cancel or reroute to 281 for safety. Once we get to Blanco I'll be hitting up the Red Bud Café for lunch, but there are several other options including Old 300 for BBQ or the Texas Canon for burgers, and more! If you're interested Herb's Hats is a great hat store for a new cowboy hat (I picked up a new one yesterday), and they're having a party the day we are there from 11-4. Total ride distance will be 174 miles.
Note that I have routed this ride out of the Leander HEB, and we will take some roads much less traveled to get there. We should arrive in Blanco after about 104 miles of riding between 11:30 and noon. After lunch, if the group would like to we can take some time to enjoy some of the local shops before heading out. We'll take a direct route home, heading north on 281 (stopping in Johnson City for gas and bio break) then east on 29, returning to KSD in Liberty Hill at the QT. Hope you'll join us!
