Kicking it off for Casey's Texas History Rides, join Rich and Linda on Texas Independence Day. We will take you to Gonzales Texas where the first shot in the Texas Revolution exploded from a six-pound cannon on October 2, 1835. Five months later Texas Independence was declared on March 2, 1836.
We will depart CTHD at 8:30am so be there no later than 8:00am for a pre-ride brief. We will have QUICK bio break in Bastrop then onto a new outdoor eatery in Gonzales called Fire City Grill around 11:15am. Following lunch we will do a quick photo op at the “Come and Take It” mosaic outside of the Gonzales Municipal Building then onto a bio/fuel stop on the way out of Gonzales. Then we will head back home on exciting "Texas property line curves" i.e. backroads passing Palmetto State Park, Luling, and Lockhart then onto Cedar Creek for another QUICK bio break. Then on to more backroads up to Manor, then Hutto with KSD at the Hutto Shell Wag a Bag. This is a Level 3 ride with an estimated ride time of 4hr35m for 225 miles. ETA in Hutto 4:00pm.
